The Bayer production site in Bitterfeld, where among other the Aspirin® tablets are produced, was one of the winners of the competition. On January 19, 2006 Bayer presented an extensive information programme on site in Bitterfeld that showed the importance and the history of Aspirin®.
“The fact that the world-famous Aspirin is produced in Bitterfeld is stroke of luck for the whole region. Bayer realised the advantages our area had to offer shortly after reunification. When people in Europe have a clear head then it can be put down to a product make in Saxony-Anhalt,” said Dr Horst Rehberger, minister for employment and commerce of the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt when he was presented with certificate.
