21 athletes in squad for Beijing Olympics

The Bayer team for the 2008 Olympic Games

Around 60 Bayer athletes wanted to fulfil the dream of taking part in the Olympic Games or the Paralympics in Beijing. The German Olympic Sports Association nominated the final squad for Beijing based on the list of athletes who managed to meet the norms.

The final squad includes a total of 21 athletes from Bayer clubs. They will compete in the athletics, swimming, rowing, fencing and handball events.

The German National Paralympic Committee named the squad for the Paralympics. 13 Bayer-backed athletes have been included which means that they will form the largest contingency backed by one sponsor.
