Nerius second in Monaco
Ecker clears 5.70 metres
Danny Ecker has put his injury problems behind him with the season slowly drawing to an end. After clearing 5.60 metres in Jockrim the TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen athlete improved he season best to 5.70m at the Super Grand-Prix-Meeting in Monaco. The pole vault was won by Renaud Lavillenie from France who cleared 5.88m. Ecker finished fifth. Elsewhere, Steffi Nerius had to settle for second place after winning on all three of her last appearances. She was beaten by Olympic gold medallist Barbora Spotakova from the Czech Republic. Katharina Molitor finished third.
