Bayer Giants Leverkusen

The Bayer Giants Leverkusen belonged to the most successful basketball teams in Germany. In their history, the club that started as TuS 04 (TSV Bayer 04 since 1984) and was known as the Bayer Giants from 2002 to 2008, lifted 14 German championships and ten German Cups. The club won the domestic double eight times. The Giants hold the record in Germany for the most Bundesliga titles. Between 1989 and 1996 the club won the title seven times in a row. Due to the restructuring of Bayer involvement in sport, sponsorship of the Bayer Giants ended at the end of the 2007/2008 season. Since the start of the 2008/2009 season the team has been playing in the Basketball-Bundesliga under the name of “Giants Düsseldorf”. The name “Bayer Giants Leverkusen” is still used by the previous second team of TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen who presently play in the 2. Bundesliga ProB.
