Sportverein Bayer Wuppertal e.V.

The Bayer Wuppertal sports club isn't just about top-level international sports. On the contrary, the club is an umbrella organization for a total of about 7,000 members who devote their leisure time to sports. It is not only the professionals but also Bayer Wuppertal's many other members who have contributed to the club's excellent reputation throughout the country with their commitment to sports. Their reasons for participating are almost always the same: physical fitness, social interaction and enjoyment of athletic activity. Since 1998 SV Bayer Wuppertal has been based at the Rutenbeck complex, the club's impressive new multi-purpose venue that provides the athletes with ideal conditions.

In 2001, SV Bayer Wuppertal's new recreational sports center at the Rutenbeck complex opened for use by the local community and club members. The expanded Bayer Sports Park includes a fitness studio, a physiotherapy practice, gymnastics halls and a training swimming pool. For relaxation purposes after training, members and guests can socialize at the on-site restaurant. What's more, an adventure playground was created outside the center for the children's amusement.
